100,000 & Phase Two

Hi everyone. I have hit over 100,000 viewers as of today in 10 months. Wow! This started as a small tool for our families and our friends to communicate as many were out of state. We had no idea that it was going to take on a life of its own. Thank you so very much for helping me keep this going and to allow me to share my "journey" with you.

This week has opened up several doors which I am so excited for. One that I was so touched by was being asked to meet a very special 5 year old little girl. She has lost both of her hands and feet a year ago due to a staph infection that went untreated for too long.

I felt so honored and touched that I have been provided this opportunity to connect with her. Hopefully this can happen next week as I'm very anxious to meet her. I can't wait to tell you all about her!

I am moving into phase two of my hands. I am having reconstructive surgery Friday morning at 6 A.M. That is so early. I'm going to see if I can slip in a little Starbucks before. :) It is an outpatient procedure so should be home after lunch. Once this heals, I can pursue prosthetics. This is an exciting step. Wish me luck!

During my recovery, however, I'm not sure how much I can type so I've lined up a few assistants, so get ready. They age from 9 to 31. Should be fun.

The other part of phase two is that Nick & I are looking for a new home. We have been looking for several months so we are hoping things will fall into place soon. We have had so much fun getting ideas and decorating. We will see how those ideas stick once we start spending. :)

Anyway, I know that you have done so much for us and sent many prayers our way but if you could squeeze in one more prayer for a house, we would be so grateful!

Okay, I'm going to try and get a little sleep. Have a great day and talk to you all soon!

Love,
Jen

Hey Jen,
Good morning! I haven't written in a while, but think of you every day. I read the article about you in the newspaper and watched the video clip. You're awesome! Loved the video, and especially loved the article in your area newspaper - beautifully written. Have fun house hunting. It's one of my favorite things to do!
Love,
Kirsten

Jen,
I know, hon, it's been a while since I've written but believe me, I keep 'caught up' on you. All the best with the surgery and once you get your prosthetics you can have a naming contest. Tough to beat Fred and Ginger, but I think of Lucy & Ethel and their dexterity in the candy factory:) They get my vote.
You're ever in my heart,

Hi Jen,
I haven't written to you in a while but I still read your blog almost daily. I am glad that you are doing well and I hope that your operation went well. The weather has been a little crazy here in Missouri. About 2 weeks ago we had about thirteen tornadoes in our area. That made for an interesting evening with our kids. Now it has turned really cold. Over the weekend I don't think it got over 25. I continue to keep you in my prayers and I am happy that you are doing so well.

I understand your surgery went well and your dad had a great surprise birthday party! How nice to be surrounded by family and friends. This has to be the start of a better year for you and your family. We need a new post Jen..looking forward to hearing from you how things are from your perspective. Sending lots of prayers and love from Kansas.
