Even when I had hands I wasn't that graceful with a knife. However, as with many things I have learned to compensate for, I have yet to master the art of using the knife. I'm thinking this is good for everyone around me. :)I was with a few friends last week and we were looking through a Williams-Sonoma catalog and the solution was right in front of me. Check out this great gadget! I can dice, slice, core & wedge just about anything. It also comes with a variety of different blades. I'll be super-independent and safe on the cutting now!
All I do is use my arms to press. How hard is that? My next gadget is the VeggieChop. Look out Rachael Ray!
Between chopping and slicing I discovered a great voice and great coffee. Have I mentioned that I have a coffee problem? Anyway, we went to listen to the great tunes of Karen Naomi at Dunn Bros Coffee. What a great story she has.
Check her site out and find out where you can catch her next. Her beautiful mom is suffering from Meningococcal septicemia and has a touching story. We are thinking of you.

I've also gotten an invite to an art show that I'm really looking forward to. This is a mother-son exhibit and she is an interior designer with tons of talent. Why is this exciting? Besides the fact that we love this kind of stuff, this relates to a previous post.
Remember a guy who came to the house to talk to Nick & I? Well, this is why. He knows her and wanted us to meet. She is an amputee as well. Can I just say how inspiring it will be to finally meet her and also to see how she has translated it into art ? Very neat. I'll keep you posted! No pun intended. :)

What else do I have for you? I'm going to get Fred & Ginger looked at next week. It's been a while but I'm learning so much about taking care of them. I have saved $ on pedicures, that's for sure.
Also, for the past few months, I have been talking with some family members of a 20-year-old girl who just lost her legs and hands last week. We talked several times prior to her surgery but how can you ever "really" prepare? Keep her in your prayers as she starts her journey.
Love, Jen
